Hi everyone! 👋

Do you have a favorite saint quote that has really inspired you?:heaven:

If so, please post it! 👍

I find it to be so neat to hear the many quotes that the saints have said as they are sometimes just the exact words that I have needed to hear. 😃

My favorite, currently, would have to be:

“Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.” -St. Catherine of Siena

I also like, “Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry.” St. Padre Pio

Can’t wait to hear more! 🙂

God bless! 🙂

Salutations.
"IF I AM IN THE STATE OF GRACE, LEAVE ME THERE. IF I AM NOT IN THE STATE OF GRACE PLACE ME THERE " ST. JOAN OF ARC
in Christ’s love,
Tweedlealice

“Unless you live as you believe, you will end up believing as you live.”
adapted from Fulton John Sheen

“It is love alone that gives worth to all things.” - St. Teresa of Avila

“Go forth and set the world on fire.” - St. Ignatius of Loyola

Great quotes so far! 👍

Here’s another one I found:

“Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.” - Blessed Teresa of Calcutta :hug3:

God bless! 🙂

Love this thread!! There are so many to choose from! Here’s one of my faves:

I travel slowly, one step at a time, because I am carrying two big suitcases. One of them contains my sins and the other, which is much heavier, are the infinite merits of Jesus. When I reach Heaven I will open the suitcases and say to God: “Eternal Father, now you can judge”… and to St Peter: “Close the door- because I’m staying”.

St Josephine Bakhita

Sorry - not only Saint quotes. Quotes in general.

If at times your hope is met with fear, it is only because you still have so many areas in your life that do not fully belong to God.

Pray for strong faith - it is a gift from God and not something you can get for yourself.

There is nothing you can do to earn or lose the love of God.

What is life for you? Career, money, pleasure, friendship, peace?

Are you tired of asking for forgiveness? God never gets tired of forgiving.

Every one of us needs half an hour of prayer every day, except when we are busy - then we need an hour - St. Francis de Sales

But Samuel replied:
“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
as much as in obeying the Lord?
To obey is better than sacrifice,
and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

Sometimes life is like a bus driving on a beautiful mountain, and everyone is fighting to have the best seat. Who cares, just pull up the shades.

A saint by definition is not a independent person

My goal in life is God, and my happiness in accomplishing his will. Nothing in the world can disturb this happiness for me, no power, no force of any kind - Faustina Diary

The quote from St. Catherine of Siena cited by the OP is one of my all time favorites. 👍

Similarly, there is this one paraphrased from St. Joan of Arc: “I am not afraid. I was born to do this.” This is actually quite a departure from the original French*; the following better conveys the sentiment of the French text but is still far from an exact translation: “I am not afraid, for God is with me. I was born for this!”

*« Je n’ai pas peur des soldats, car ma route m’a été ouverte, et si les soldats viennent, j’ai Dieu, mon Seigneur, qui saura comment libérer la route qui mène à Sieur le Dauphin. C’est pour cela que je fus nais. » (In the interest of full disclosure, I should probably say that I haven’t seen this quote mentioned on any French-language Web site.)

I’m liking all of these quotes! 👍

Here’s another one I came across that is good to remember, especially on certain days…🙂

“When we yield to discouragement or despair it is usually because we give too much thought to the past and to the future.” -St. Therese of Lisieux

God bless! 🙂

“If you wish to go to extremes, let it be in sweetness, patience, humility, and charity.”
- St. Philip Neri -

“Act, and God will act” St. Joan of Arc

Mostly I think it speaks to an aspect of Christianity often ignored… both our need to do for God in a literal sense and the fact that it isn’t all doom and gloom and we can succeed with Him.

My Mom used to tell us before Confession, " You can fool me, you might even be able to fool Father, but just remember, you’ll NEVER be able to fool God."

"It is said in the Gospel that God will come like a Thief. He will come to steal me away very gently. Oh how I would love to aid the Thief!”
"I’m not afraid of the Thief. I see Him in the distance, and I take good care not to call out: *‘Help, Thief!’…*On the contrary, I call to Him, saying: ‘Over here, over here!’
*** ~Saint Thérèse of Lisieux June 9, 1897~***
Peace, Mark

“Wherefore it is best to learn to silence the faculties and to cause them to be still, so that God may speak.”
