I was reading quotes for St Faustina’s diary and I felt overwhelmed by them. It got me thinking though, how do we ‘totally abandon oneself totally to God and to give Him full freedom to act in our soul’ ?

“O my Jesus, You have tested me so many times in this short life of mine! I have come to understand so many things, and even such that now amaze me. Oh, how good it is to abandon oneself totally to God and to give Him full freedom to act in one’s soul!” (134, page 74)

We learn how to abandon ourselves to God in small steps … it takes time … there are moments in my life where I felt that I totally abandoned myself to God … then there are moments when I took that back and tried to make the decisions and actually had myself thinking that I could control the results of things … those times are not good times … when we abandon ourselves to God we free ourselves … it’s a fantastic feeling … sorry to say I haven’t been able to do it for long periods of time … but I come back and keep trying.

To totally abandon oneself to God, we give ourselves to our Blessed Mother, our Advocate, calling on her habitually.

Through the Mercy of Jesus Christ, how much easier everything is with Mary’s help.

She is the breath of our soul, and our life, sweetness, and hope!
