Instruction Generalis?

In the document found on the USCCB web site it refers to a document Instruction Generalis denoted in many place as IG. From what I can see this is the same document as the GIRM, is this correct? Throughout the document and footnotes the IG and GIRM are separately identified. Why would this be as it seems very confusing.

Yes, the GIRM and the IGMR are one and the same, albeit one is in English, with the American adaptations, and the other is the original in Latin. The only reason I can think of for going back and forth in the references is that perhaps some refer specifically to the wording in the American adaptation and the others refer to the wording in the original Latin text (as you find in the England and Wales translation of the GIRM, without adaptations).

The document what you quoted is explanation of some parts of the GIRM. Some parishes should had bee read it carefully

the revised Instruction speaks always of “a cross with the figure of Christ **crucified **upon it.”

It is for this reason that the tabernacle should be located in an especially worthy place in the church and should be constructed in such a way that it emphasizes and manifests the truth of the real presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.
