Thank you for your response. With specifics aside, I don’t know how to associate with family members who, for example, attend Mass when it’s convenient, marry in the church and then divorce and re-marry, others who cohabitate with no plans to marry.
It’s all around us. Not just family. There was an article in the newspaper recently, announcing an engagement to be married. It noted that the couple decided to set the date when they were vacationing together on a cruise after ‘being together’ for two years.
I watch everybody else accept these actions. One friend told me ‘I can’t change the world, so I just act like it isn’t happening.’ I can’t help wondering how God’s thinking on this matter!
I am in no way sinless. What others do, I’ve always felt, is none of my business. That has worked for me until family became involved. There’s the holidays, of good cheer, but mine are always with a heavy heart, as I try to treat all fairly. In my heart I feel God isn’t happy with the circumstances and that saddens and confused me.
