So, can I then assume that you are opposed to critical thinking? A child in a science class has no right to question? Everything the science teacher says is to be taken as absolute, unquestionable fact? And all this time I thought it was the atheists who claim to be the champions of free thought. I stand corrected. All students are to be absolutely obedient to whatever their teacher says. I certainly hope a science teacher doesn’t try to justify racism by saying that certain races are “less evolved” than ohters. (It isn’t impossible…it has happened before). Of course even if a teacher would say such a thing, the student must accept it. They have no right to counter with their own arguments. Inanity such as this, restricting critical thought is one of the reasons American science education is lagging. THe purpose of science is to question and think critically. Furthermore, for a science teacher to force a student to say all of this happened outside of God is treading on areas science should not tread. Perhaps ID/Theistic Evolution is not prperly science. By the same token, science classrooms should not make the claim that natural processes occur without God. It is not a science teacher’s job to try to drive the belief in God out of the student. Not in a science class. Not in a math class.
