Intelligently-Written and Interesting Traditional Catholic Magazine Recommendations

I’m hoping this could be a nice thread with reviews and recommendations for magazines with a traditional Catholic viewpoint. And by “traditional”, I don’t necessarily mean traditionalist.

We all know of Latin Mass Magazine and the Remnant. Catholic Answers magazine is a nice magazine too.

I also like the print edition of New Oxford News, although I’m not sure it is still available.

A friend just asked me if I ever heard of Traditionalist Magazine. Has anyone ever read this magazine? I noticed there is a sample on the books page.

If you know of any good Catholic magazines, please post them here.

The Wanderer (newspaper) is traditional and conservative in their reporting.

I would like to hear other suggestions as well!
 
The Traditionalist is very good, but it only comes quarterly.
 
I used to subscribe, to Envoy, This Rock, The Catholic Answer, Crisis and New Covenant. Now the only one publishing is Catholic Answres Magazine. I also subscribe to New Oxford Review.
I also had First Things for a couple of years but felt it was a little too dry. And for a number of years I subscribed to Catholic League but stopped because they never questioned Sean Hannity’s attacks on Catholic teaching on contraception and other attacks on the church.

I would like to get at least one other but don’t actually know of one. Since I read during lunch breaks on line is not satisfactory. Also being light sensitive I cannot look at something online for more than a brief period of time.
 
The Distributist Review for traditional Catholic economics, it’s only available online though.

Well, for one thing, it’s run by the man who founded Latin Mass Magazine back in the day, so it’s closer to what LMM was 15 years ago. I find the Traditionalist a bit easier to read, as it is deals with some everyday Catholic Life issues as well as the more abstract itellectual articles . The don’t tend to do articles which are Part 3 of a 15 part series , which can be a little annoying for me personally. Overall, I also tend to sympathize with the Traditionalist’s political and economic writers.

I also went to adoremus.org and found a monthly bulletin. Is this what you’re referring to?

I don’t think I’d be considered a “traditional” Catholic, so I’m not sure that my recommendations would align with your interests. Are you more interested in news, views and commentary, scripture, theology, or devotional aids? Your best bet is to ask your Catholic friends and acquaintances or even your pastor or parish office if you can borrow their periodicals after they’ve read them. Also, periodicals may be willing to send you a trial copy, and you may be able to read articles on their website. Finally, your local public library, if you live in a city, or a college or university library will have copies of many of the larger publications.

My parents get “Homiletic and Pastoral Review.” Seems pretty intellectual, and overall geared toward priests, if that’s what you’re looking for.

I took a look at that online one day. It seems pretty good. I think they stopped producing print editions.

I would love to have some print publications too. I get tired from reading online.
