I realize this is a completely subjective issue.
We dream, and it can be random explosions of brain electricity sparked into our dreams.
I believe people are given images at times, but it’s never up to that person to decide it. I guess I just wanted to share my experience.
I had a great weekend with a girl I’m seeing, but it drew me away from the Lord in being active physically. Such guilt harms my faith often, and for the first time in over a year I didn’t go to mass yesterday. I’m going to confession tonight.
When I’m in a spiritual crisis such as this, on these occassions I will use sick days from work. I’ll work through sickness of the body, but the weight of guilt is far more damaging to me. I didn’t go to work today.
So I slept, and slept, and slept. I slept overall about 14 hours last night into late morning.
I was awakened by having two infinitely intense flashes during the dream I was having. I was playing soccer in a very small, wooden, indoor elavated field with what I can only describe as angels. Oddly enough, I was actually good and impressing them (I played soccer growing up, but issues with my weight prevent me from ever thinking about playing again). It was as if I was able to let go of the defficiencies of my body, which is what is promised to us in heaven.
Image 1: Anyways, I suddenly saw a large black, padded, place that was thrust right in front of me in the middle of the field. The intensity of this transition cannot be described. If it were a movie, it would be using the severe shaking screen effects with loud noises and lots of stretching visual effects.
I was aware of my guilt, and felt I was suddenly in the presence of the Lord, and gladly rushed to kneel. I felt gracious to be able to do so.
Image 2: My head was intensely drawn upward, to which there was a large hole or oculus in the ceiling at the top of the arching building with what I think could have been the presence of the Lord looking down upon me as I knelt. I could see the blue sky, light, and clouds up there.
It was a cloaked, gigantic dark figure, yet, something that brought me tears of happiness once I awoke. I think we can get caught up in cliche representations. Someone might say since it was a dark figure, presence, or even cloud, it had to be evil. However, God gives grace to us whether we accept it or not, he is also to be feared absolutely.
Anyways, I awoke gracious, crying, and phased, not knowing what to think overall. I’m not declaring it as some image from the Lord with meaning. However, it sure was intense, and beautifully gave me the represntational attention from God, as well as a reminder of His judgment, for this day.
