We have a person in our family dying from cancer. I heard a talk recently by someone saying that they prayed the Divine Mercy Novena for an intention of their own. But, as I’m looking into it, I’m not sure it is proper to have our own intentions for this novena. I would like to pray this novena (given that it’s it is coming up in a week or so) for the person’s healing (in general - mental, spiritual, and physical). It seems like the Divine Mercy Novena is setup to pray for various groups of people (starts with everyone - works its way down to those that are the most distressing to Jesus, the lukewarm Christians).

Any info from those that have done this in the past will be very appreciated.

Thanks!!

It’s OK. Don’t forget that the Divine Mercy is unfathomable. Include your own intentions too

“Through the chaplet you will obtain ANYTHING (emphasis mine) if what you ask for is compatible with My will.” (Jesus, to St. Faustina, Diary 1731)

Any prayer can be offered for an intention, including the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. We offer our Masses for an intention as well as our Rosaries.
