O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Teach her searching heart

to know that God’s Love

for her is unchanging and

unchangeable, and, that

true human love can only

begin and grow by touching

His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -

which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this

I don’t pray to saints because to me that seems like idolatry. I don’t even pray for specific things because the Puritan Christian tradition doesn’t really allow it. The Presbyterian Church does, but I kind of disagree with them as well. It seems selfish. Good thing we’re a democratic sort of church or we’d never get along.

What I will do is offer my sincere prayers for God’s Will, praying as He taught us to pray.

Lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil,

Peace be with you, Katie. God’s Will is supreme. People say it is unknowable, the Bible does, and it kind of is. I mean He’s a God, who knows what He thinks or why He does anything?

But I have noticed something in my observations of the entire universe, and all of my secular readings. God never gives us challenges that we can’t overcome, never gives us challenges that don’t advance us or make us stronger. His Will is incomprehensible to us, but, we did try to take His knowledge, did we not?

We are only paying the price in increments, never greater than we can afford once we come to Him. Faith is God’s gift to mankind so we can handle it. Knowledge is His method of ensuring that we gain it. Notice how there are no atheist societies that ever lasted? They fall apart as if by design.

But the one Holy and Apostolic Church and the Christian Faith hold strong across millennia. Sure, we had our schism, we had our wars, we’re still a bit separate, but what have we done with that? We created the most prosperous, powerful, and populous religion in the world. God’s Will is intractable in that way. Even in sin, He grants us mercy.

So look at your crisis that way, dear Katie. Draw strength and conviction from it. Let Christ take the wheel as you know is right, and feel His power in what you feel and what you do. He never gives us any challenges we can’t overcome.
