Wow. It continues to amaze me that people still judge other people based on their skin color or ethnic background.

I am the child of an interracial couple. My mom is Caucasian (mixed northern European) and dad is Hispanic (Mexican). I thank God that the Church did not disapprove or forbid them to marry, and also that neither of their families made an issue about races but instead supported them. Otherwise they wouldn’t have had their 33-year (and still counting) marriage and I wouldn’t be here.

My biracial cousin (also Caucasian/Hispanic) married an African-American man. They have some of the most beautiful children I have ever seen.

AMEN Thank you someone finally said it. It keeps me amazed and it makes me sick to see it happening still.

I have no prolem with inter-racial relationships, however, all the hardships that can come from the rest of society can cause grief.
For some reason, I thought society was becoming more tolerant in this regard. 20 years ago, when I was teaching in the city, there was one biracial boy in the school. Neither race accepted him. My daughter has a close friend who is biracial and to my knowledge, she has no problems w/ people accepting her. I don’t believe her mom has had problems, either. (mom is white, dad is black- wonderful family) —KCT

If this is the man God has selected for her, then you should rejoice and be glad. God always knows best. Pray for God’s will in her life - not your will.
This is good advice. I would be less concerned with outward appearances and more concerned with inward holiness. I don’t consider myself a “liberal,” but in this way I guess I am. I come from a family who would take your viewpoint. If my own children would form a bi-racial relationship, I would only be concerned if the other person was not Catholic or holy.
