Catholics conduct inter-religious conferences. Does it indicate that Catholics do not have strong faith in Jesus, Jesus alone?.
Jesus clearly said that “I am the way, the life and truth”. HE never said “I am one the ways”. Why can’t we say “Jesus is the only way” No other way exists.

Jesus also prayed “that they may all be one.” How can that happen if we don’t even talk with each other?

We cannot say who is damned since we do not know if the person will die in the state of grace.

Usually inter religious conferences need permission from the bishop.

I’m skeptical to pray with other religions or protestants with their own prayers.

One good thing is to work with other religions for social causes like trying to get back to marriage between one man and one woman as the law of the land.

The Catholic Church contains the fullness of truth. The Church, however, acknowledges that all religions may also echo some of that truth to varying extents and it is those truths which draw their worshipers. Inter-religious conferences focus upon those shared truths. They are meant to highlight the truth which is found within that religion. In doing so, it also sheds light upon what is incorrect within the dogmas of those religions by means of what is excluded from their shared truth.

There is a time for everything. Of course Jesus is the only way, Sometimes it is best to be direct and sometimes it is best to allow for some ambiguity in order to lead to a more direct path. It depends on what you are trying to accomplish, there is the more immediate goal and there is the long term goal. Sometimes it is best to be silent and sometimes it is best to speak out. True wisdom is to know when is when.
