If the saints are in Heaven, then they share the Beatific Vision and are completely purged of the sin of pride.

So when we pray for the intercession of a particular saint for something, and that something comes to pass, should we give thanks only to God, or also to the saint? Does giving thanks to a saint take away from or add to our thanksgiving to God?

Thanking a saint or anyone else who plays a part in doing good for us no more takes away from our thanksgiving to God than asking a person or a saint to do something for us takes away from our prayers to God.

In other words there is no either/or situation here, it’s a both/and, just as a compliment to your child is indirectly but really a compliment to you as the child’s parent :yup:

I once asked Jesus about that and He told me that our Father in heaven made us to His likeness and that is in the spirit. When saints bodies die their soul spirit goes back to God. So when we thank the saint we are thanking God for His gift of the saint. That’s a little point about your question. You are right in blessing God by blessing the saint there is no pride in Heaven as Jesus tells us in Heaven there is love, love cannot be where pride is.
