Does anyone have experience with asking for St. Dymphna’s intercession for children with autism? My research indicates that there is no patron saint for this disorder, but St. Dymphna is the patron of those with nervous disorders. It seems that, since autism is a neurological disorder, she would be the patron of those who suffer from it.

Thanks,
Dan

Dear Dan, I have three children on the autism spectrum. I, too, looked for a patron saint of autism and found there was none. Some people in the forum suggested asking the intercession of St. Dymphna, and I have been praying for her intercession on behalf of my children. She seems like a very good choice. God bless, Kate

hey- htats just my case!! I have autism and have been pleading St. Dympnhna to help me with it. I think she’s helped alot with my psychosis. 🙂

I only fell in love one time in my life - to a girl I never spoke to. I last saw her 25 years ago. I think about her every day. But I never wanted to marry her. I’m 38 years old. I have a singularly odd emotional detachment from people. So what do you think ? I suspect I have some sort of mild ( maybe not so mild ) form of Autism. Anyway, yep, I’m a great fan of St. Dymphna ! She looks like a fairey , and her name reminds me of “nymph” and if nothing else she keeps me delightful company !
She has a national shrine in ohio, but I don’t know how to link you to the website. 😦
God bless you! 🙂
