Intercession of St. John Paul II

I have decided to call on St. Pope John Paul II for assistance in a difficult matter. I picked him because he’s peripherally involved with the matter and, now that I think about it, he’s the only canonized saint that I ever got to see in person when he was alive.

I have confidence in Jesus and in the intercession of Saint JPII (as well as the several other saints I’ve previously enlisted for help with this, it’s a pretty big matter) but wondered if anybody else has some encouraging and uplifting personal stories of St. JPII’s intercession to share. I’ve already read the one online where he allegedly appeared to a sick lady in the hospital and she was made better.

I don’t have a story but I think it is a good idea. I also remember seeing him on his Popemobile. Saints in Heaven with exalted knowledge may be able to ‘see’ every person who ever saw them during their earthly life.

I saw him from a great distance as I was lucky to attend his Mass in Baltimore, which first I had to get lucky in the parish lottery to get a ticket (this was back when I was still a pretty faithful Sunday churchgoer) and then his whole tour was cancelled when he broke his arm and rescheduled the next year. The security was unbelievable for that pre-9/11 era, everyone coming to Mass at the stadium sat in traffic for ages and then had to go through screening and be in their seat hours before the Pope’s plane even landed, and there were sharpshooters on top of all the surrounding buildings. When he finally got there he looked like a flea from my seat way up in the stands, but we did get to see him go round the field in the Popemobile and then say Mass, and he was of course on the Jumbotron.

I posted that story here on CAF. Isn’t that the most amazing thing? I love that story. Anyway, the only other stories I’ve heard on JPII are the two people who got him canonized: the French nun with Parkinson’s and the lady in Costa Rica with a brain aneurysm. I’m sure there have been countless others that we don’t know about.

I’ll pray for your intentions. Also, I just want to add that if your difficult situation has anything to do with a neurological problem, cannabis has been a god-send for many people. None of my business, just sayin’.

Ask him to pray for you but ask the Blessed Mother too. God doesn’t neglect prayers devoted to the ‘wrong’ saint and no saint would withhold their prayers if offered with a true heart.

You’re a good person from what I know of you on here and true and from what I know from a friend of mine (who was one of St JP II’s staff) he’d appreciate that.

Just to clarify, that’s not the problem. Also, I don’t have any big beef with other people’s cannabis but I have never used it myself and not going to start now for various reasons.

Yes, the Blessed Mother is important. I do ask her and St. Joseph every day. Also a group of other saints. I know all the prayers end up with God, I am just trying to get all the help I can

Without exposing your problem, it might help to share what area of concern is affecting you: legal, financial, medical, interpersonal, etc.

I was involved for five years in an unjust legal battle initiated by a family member. The Holy Spirit gave me a scripture from Jeremiah 1:17 and 19: “Be not crushed on their account, as though I would leave you crushed before them. They will fight against you, but not prevail over you, for I am with you to deliver you says the Lord.”

As I continued to stand on the Word of God, it was ultimately proved true, and I was not ‘crushed’ by the injustice.

Have you asked the Holy Spirit for His Word on which to stand as you await deliverance? Knowing you, I would think the answer is yes.

Praying for your situation.

Thanks, yes I’ve been in communication with the Holy Spirit. I’d rather not get into details at this time.

Really just looking for some stories if anyone has prayed for intercession of Pope JPII and the outcome.

I always find it shocking how common that is. Especially people fighting over inheritances of deceased parents. Like St Paul said ‘isn’t it better to suffer injustice than to sue your brother?’

I found some testimonials here:

Frequent Saints I call upon are JPII, Paul VI, John XXIII, Pius XII, Pius X, Gregory the Great, Leo the Great.

I’ve had some personal medical miracles and such that I asked for JPII to watch over me for. And I believe he was a huge help for me, healing from certain things

Just got this for Christmas 🙂

Been thinking about this for a few days, and there are some things I would prefer not to share publicly. I live within driving distance of his shrine in DC, and attend adoration there when I can. So I’m not sure my stories are directly of his intercession - but I would like to think that when we adore our Lord at a saint’s shrine, that the saint adores Him alongside of us in a special way. All I’m comfortable posting on an open forum right now is that I went in with a question and came out with a far more definite answer than I deserved.

Thanks for reminding me about that shrine. I’ll have to go down there. St. John Paul II along with the other saints I’ve been praying to was very helpful to me last weekend, and my anxiety over the matter in question is much reduced this week. I have been a little bit iffy about St. Pope John Paul II in the past because I have thought he did not do enough to resolve the priest sex abuse crisis, but in fairness I really don’t know what he might have been doing or trying to do, and he had a great deal on his plate dealing with the fall of Communism in Europe and just traveling around so much.

I think I will also ask St. Pope John XXIII to help as he is peripherally involved in all this too and was canonized the same day, plus I always try to ask him to pray for us as I feel he does not get much attention. There is one church in this area with a large statue of him and honestly it’s the only statue of him I’ve ever seen in a parish. I feel like he’s almost as forgotten as Leo XIII, Pius XI and Benedict XV.
