As a protestant and long believer, I use to argue with Catholics but now I’m becoming one of them. Thanks to visiting mass, Catholic Answers, etc. I’m finding out that the catholics are going by what Christ taught in a more in-depth way - probably because it was the first church! If you guys doubt your way of evangelizing, don’t worry… one is now entering 🙂 Yes, I am quite excited. I face some issues at home due to being the only one that’s going to be practicing catholicism. I attended christmass mass twice and visited last weekend. I feel bad though… before I started respecting how they handled communion, I figured it’s between me and Christ and I took communion twice, and the third time I crossed my arms. I fully knew I was taking communion but it didn’t matter to me before. Now I feel bad about it 😦 I’m excited about what’s ahead though and taking the RCIA classes. I just hope I’ll survive while my mother particularly has an issue with it! Luckily she apologized and said I should choose to go where I wish to worship, but I didn’t tell her I was joining yet either. That’s the true test of her! Anyway, thanks for all that you do.

congrats Redshock. I always say that converts are the most knowledgable- because they have an adult understaning and are convictional. They have good reasons to be Catholic! So keep studying and welcome!

Welcome home! :extrahappy: I was received into the Church in November and every day I’m more and more thankful to be here. 😃 And prayers for you and your family. :signofcross: I know that can be difficult!

Welcome! You have a seeking heart. Your current church has truth in it, as do all Christian denominations. However, for those who seek the fullness of truth, there is but one destination. I ask those of other faith traditions if they love Christ enough to follow Him no matter where He leads them - even into the Catholic Church. That is the test. No one has said “no” so far! Stay the course, and feel free to ask a lot of questions, or you can PM us with any question at all.

Christ’s peace be with you.

Wow!

I would love to hear your story.

I am amazed at those who are interested in Catholicism.

I have alot of questions.

1.What is it that pulled your attention to Catholicism?

2.Was it something that someone said or did?

I am just curious about your journey.

I just bought this book today. It’s great. It is suppose to help you through your journey.

We are in the 3rd week of Lent.

Jesus is still in the desert fasting.

He is hungry,and tired.

We are invited to imitate this during the 40 days.

We sacrifice meat on Friday during Lent.

Because Jesus sacrificed His flesh for us on a Friday.

Only the warm blooded animals because Jesus’ blood is warm.

On Passion (Palm) Sunday, Lent is over. Jesus has returned from the desert and rode in to Jerusalem. Holy Week begins.

Welcome home! I am also a former Protestant, and I am very happy for you!!! 😃

Your situation is similar to mine. I think your situation is how most of us former Protestants ended up in the church. Congrats and welcome home.

As convert Scott Hahn said, sometimes it takes a foreigner to show us how beautiful our home really is. Sounds like you are a light on a hill! 👍

Woot woot! This is awesome news! Welcome HOME! :extrahappy:

My family wasn’t very accepting about my decision and it’s still a subject I can’t talk much about… But I just keep living my faith and waiting for opportunities to share with them the beauty of it all!

Blessings to you this day!

Welcome Home! :clapping: :clapping:

You’re not alone feeling like a minority in your own family and I’m a cradle Catholic. My wife and I are raising our children in the faith and my mother is very devout, however that is about it for my immediate family.

My oldest sister attends Mass weekly but that is only since she got married and her husband goes. My brother and sil left to become Lutherans (that was another can of worms) and my other sister doesn’t practice anything. :dts:

Out of 8 nieces/nephews a total of zero practice or even believe. I worry and pray for all of them. :gopray:

Blessings for your journey.
