This Article in Our Local “Cincinnati Enquirer” seemed quite well written and interesting. I thought I’d share it with everyone.

Glad you enjoyed the article. It is very interesting, thank you very much for it! Fr. Schnippel seems like a nice guy, quite a lot like the priest in charge of the archdiocese’s vocations where I live. I’m glad they touched on his bit about a sacrificial life. I think that view is becoming much more popular among young people, as pessimistic as I am about our culture.
Glad you enjoyed the article. It is a good article, though some of the comments about the article are sadly typical. Those of us in discernment aren’t stupid. We know what’s expected and what we will sacrifice.
I can only imagine the difficulty being a vocations director. Doing long hauls and investing so much time and energy only to be turned down by so many young men and women. But, I know it must also be a great feeling when a guy or girl makes first contact and shows demonstrated interest all on their own. My own discernment caught even my priest off guard. I simply stated I had met with a priest and I mentioned his name. My priest looked at me for a second and said, “Yeah, I know him. He’s a good priest. He’s also the vocations director.” Then my priests eyes got bigger.
