Have you read the Compendium : Catechism of the Catholic Church?

I am an avid reader of Catholic and EO books. I read books on the Saints, and topics such as dying, prayer, sin and much more.

For some reason, I have largely bypassed the CCC. I use the CCC as a reference and that is about it. I know I am missing out by feeling this way, and I have a large backlog as it is, but with heavy reading everyday, I don’t mind.

What about the book: “Compendium : Catechism of the Catholic Church?” Is this book very dry, or is it engaging? Your thoughts would be very very appreciated!

The Compendium is set up like the Baltimore Catechism, in a question & answer format.
It is much less “dry” than reading the actual Catechism, but I suggest keeping the Catechism close by for reference.

I’ve got a copy but I prefer to official Catechism rather than a condensed version.

It is also “official” it is the Official Compendium issued by Pope Benedict XVI

Tis a splendid* vademecum* as Pope Benedict XVI called it.
