If I were on Facebook, I would correct them. Especially since you’re a family member and not some random anonymous person on the internet. Of course, leave out the cynicism and do so in a respectful manner.

By correcting them you may plant a seed to think about things are little bit more objectively, so they can learn to get past the naivety.

I always type in : hoax, check Snopes.
