I think it depends on what your streaming.

I stream music from a particular site and the buffering sometimes is appalling.

Plays for 2 seconds stops for 10 seconds until I give up.

If I had the option it would be DVD.

Personally, Id like to see whats coming next, However, I believe with all the trademark and piracy problems the entertainment industry has had due to the recent format of movies and music, they will probably not be going down the same route (file sharing type formats), and will probably create some type of medium like CDs, or mini-discs, etc. or something that has to be literally bought and handled, not something anyone can download, upload, and move around so easily with any computer or smartphone.

I think mini-discs would work great, I think they would have solved all the piracy problems and were small enough to still be convenient and affordable, plus it will force everyone to purchase new electronic equipment, mini-disc players for the home, car, etc. After all, this was why they used to change the video game formats so often, so people had to constantly buy new systems…Im surprised they stopped doing that for awhile, but its due to come back.in the end, they want people spending money and buying things, so releasing music or movies on a medium that is easily pirated makes little sense, I think they have learned their lesson with this by now though.
