Is interrupting the Mass to explain how to receive Communion with respect to COVID breaking the rubrics? Causing illicit Mass?

Giving instructions during Mass is decreed by the Bishop. It is important during this time.

Did someone actually interrupt the Confietor to do instructions?

It depends on which part of the Mass was “interrupted”. Interrupting the Consecration of the Eucharist would be a problem. But it doesn’t sound like that happened here.

How exactly did the priest interrupt the Confiteor? I can’t imagine he stopped in the middle of the prayer, gave instructions, and then continued with the remainder of the prayer.

May I ask, are you a Brother in the Catholic sense or did you choose your name for another reason?

I am puzzled that you did not know the correct term ‘Confiteor’.

Are you referring to the “second Confiteor” before Holy Communion in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite? The Confiteor in the Ordinary Form occurs nowhere near the Communion Rite, so I can’t see how it would apply here.
