Interspecies marriage

Assuming intelligent life exists on other planets, would God allow marriage between the species?
 
Assuming a million other variables fall into place; if there is no chance, ever, for procreation, then probably not. Kind of like gay “marraige”. If there is, then maybe. :confused:
 
Just wait, with homosexual marriage sweeping through now, inter-species marriage won’t necessarily require extra-terrestrial life forms.

Maybe aliens have same sex attraction issues too. Or maybe they don’t even have sex. I guess I’ve been watching too much science fiction lately.

Well, my wife and I got married, and she thinks I’m from another planet.

I’m not sure if she considers me intelligent life or not, though.😛

Well, my wife just admitted she’s from Jupiter. But I had to correct her an remind her that she’s really from Pluto… very cold…burrr.

Whose gonna pay for the long distance phone calls, the flower delivery costs and the petrol money for dates. :eek:

I was just watching Star Trek: Voyager. Would Seven of Nine count as an interspecies marriage if one were to marry her, it, or whatever. I tell my children that she has borg "implants’ for enhancement. My wife and I laugh between us. The last episode was on Seven of Nine dating. It would be like dating my computer.😃

How would the holographic doctor and seven of nine count? Bazaar. 😊

I think in the series finale the holographic doctor actually ended up marrying a real person.
 
The moral law makes marriage only valid when a man and women are joined together to serve God and each other.

Since God rarely interferes with man’s free will, He will not likely choose to strike down anyone who attempts an interspecies arrangement.

no because for a valid marriage the partners must be one man and one woman, human, and must be able to complete the marriage act. Since aliens by definition are not human, although they might be intelligent, no valid marriage would be possible.

Yeah, but 7/9 used to be human, so that probably has a lot more going for it then marrying a hologramme. And didn’t he get married a few times?

Anyway… it worked for Spock’s parents…:cool:

Catholic understanding of marriage requires two ends: unity and procreation. Since members of two different planetary ecologies would almost certainly not be able to procreate, I think marriage would be ruled out.

In the Star Trek universe there were a number of cross-species relationships that were fertile, first and foremost Mr. Spock himself, whose father married a human woman because “. . . at the time it seemed the logical thing to do.” (I’ve heard that another interpretation of that comment was “You’re WHAT?!?!?”) However, as it turns out, a number of planets, including the home planets of the major humanoid species, had been seeded by DNA from a predecessor race. There was also no room in Gene Roddenberry’s universe for any deity to dictate what was right and wrong. You’re human and you want to have sex with a Klingon? Help yourself; just watch out for the mating rituals.
