Interstellar travels...is this against Catholic teaching?

So I am a big fan of the idea that some day humans could live on other planets. Whether that be a mission to Mars, or some day much further away.

My question is, is this idea against Gods Plan for us? My wife references that the new Heaven will be on earth. She would also express concern about the lack of a Catholic mass in such a situation. Can someone clear this up for me. I don’t want to be discussing something like this if it really IS against the Catholic teaching.

Space travel is not against Catholic teaching. All that is created is good and man is a steward of creation.
