Hi, my name is Maya, and I’m a year 12 student at Thomas More College, I am currently studying religion and doing an investigation on priesthood marriage and whether or not Catholic Priests should be given the right to marry. I am hoping to contact a Catholic Priest in order to ask a few questions in the form of an interview, and i am unsure of where to turn
My email is lm120219@tmc.catholic.edu.au

Thankyou

Just so you know, some catholic priests are married, such as many in the eastern catholic churches and some who have converted from the Anglican faith. Also, just to correct the language you are using, but it is impossible for a Catholic priest to marry validly after he has been ordained. It is, however, possible for a married man to be ordained as a priest. It is currently the discipline in the Latin Rite that married men are not allowed to be ordained, but this discipline is not the same for all the different Rites.

I would call the Catholic seminary which most of the seminarians in your diocese attend, and ask if they have someone on the faculty who could answer your questions. They are the most likely to know a priest who could give you succinct and entirely correct answers.
