Is there intrinsic morality in people or is it a learned behavior?

If it wasn’t for a dam guy who started it all, we’d all be intrinsically moral.

There is an intrinsic desire for basic goods such as life and knowledge. Everybody wants to participate in these goods. Morality enters the picture when people start formulating plans on how to achieve these basic goods. This gives rise to the first principle of morality: choose only those possibilities which are compatible with integral human flourishing. This is a basic explanation of natural law.

How can I bridge between that and the argument that intrinsic morality is an argument for Gods existence?

Religion is a basic good that is self-evident to people. That is, you don’t have to prove religion is a good that people intrinsically desire. Everybody wants the answers to the big questions in life. I suppose that could help you bridge the gap. The natural inclination towards religion is a proof for the existence of God.

The law is written upon our hearts. This is some level of intrinsic morality. Free will allows us to either enhance that morality, or go against it.

Because the truth (Jesus Christ) is not universally acknowledged in every country. Thus we get fragments of the truth. Glimpses. Half truths.

It really doesn’t.
For instance, how would you feel if there was a country that, to visit, required women to expose their upper half? It would be crude and ridiculous, right?
But, for some nations, the same principle is in place when they are asked to take off their head scarfs.

Basic moral trends are clear throughout the world. I believe in scaling of morality, democrats and Republicans in America both get even scores. It’s about what you put emphasis on and what you accept as acceptable.

How are our morals and say a country where nudity is perfectly normal similar? Is there a root basis for morality beneath societal customs? I mean obviously that’s hard especially if we don’t have like groups of people growing up isolated.

You’re back!!
We’re born w original sin. Basically, a baby is a blank state. If nurtured in loving kindness and compassion, may not be aggressive? But, both natures are readily available. We all have a monster inside us. That’s why we must learn self-control. We are vulnerable. Mid your Mim put a plate of poison on your plate, would you eat it?
If she put a scrumptious, healthy dinner in front of you, would you eat it? I hope so.
If walking down a street, the road split. The left fork was muddy and disgusting. The R fork was clean and paved. Which road would you take? The R, I hope.
Your mind and Spirit need nourishment, also. Will you watch violent, adult movies or G and maybe PG movies. Music should not have bad words in them or bad situations. There are a lot of good Christian groups out there.,
But, what about friends? Even church kids aren’t holy. They’re sent to CCD TO LEARN. They leave and behave badly. Stay away from ungodly kids. Pick carefully. Smart nice kids from whom you can learn. Jesus was called names and spit on… Choices are hard. I was a little lonely in teens. But, I had NO RERETS!

Lord, this child is searching for You in his life. Let him find You easier. Thanks, ABBA

The point is that there is a basic morality understood in our hearts, that modesty is good, but a country in the middle east likely understands that differently than a place with barely any clothes.

Fun fact, people all around the world wear clothes, even if it’s just for certain occasions.

Salutations,
The church teaches, we are born w original sin.
So, we aren’t a clean state. Hence, Baptism. A personality does peak through. I said, basically, b/c some kids have an irritation besides colic. But it’s not the first week. Some kids as they grow into toddlers are rebellious and some are putty in your hands. It’s not all or never. Putting colic aside, it’s personality. Evil spirits would be gone w Baptism, if they were around. Could they be around, probably. The supernatural realm is not a set pattern. One can enjoy and train a baby and make a responsible adult.
It’s complicated.

I believe you are asking if there is such a thing as objective natural law.
Yes there is.

The problem is it derives from the application of right reason to human behaviour.
We all seem to disagree over who has “right” reason when it comes to the middle to finer points.

Most people agree private ownership is good and theft murder and rape are wrong in principle…though even then there can be disagreements re specific incidents.

So yes its messy.
