How do you understand ‘intuition’ and how do you understand it in light of our Faith?

Thanks

Intuition is in part learned, such as mathematical intuition. However, there is also higher intuition which we encounter in many situations, and has been studied at the University of Nevada. The university received grants from casinos to do studies to determine why some people win when gambling.

One of the most important findings was that human physiology changes in response to future events. And, if a person is sensitive to these small changes in physiological functioning, then that person can effectively predict his future experience.

However, very few people can do this. As a rule of thumb, if you feel lucky, there is a better chance that you will be lucky…

I have had some instances of what those who study paranormal phenomena call precognition? For instance, I taught a little boy whose mother volunteered at the school. One night I had a dream about her. She was driving her car during the day, coming toward me. I saw her face clearly when suddenly the picture became red and swirling about, blotting out her face. I didn’t have a good feeling about this so I asked her if she had been having any weird dreams. She said no. About a week, or two later, she was killed in a car accident. She was driving. Fortunately her son wasn’t with her. It was a freaky accident too. For some reason she went up over the median in the street.

I have a friend that I frequently talk to. Usually, not all the time when I think of calling her, I get a call from her.

Sometimes I think intuition is an instance of being sensitive to body movements, language etc. of another person. Instinct, intuition? I don’t really know, but I do believe some people are more sensitive to whatever it is that is happening.

Take the stock market. There have been times when I get the distinct feeling I shouldn’t listen to my financial advisor and do this or that with my savings. Unfortunately a couple of times, I have lost money because I didn’t listen to myself. Go figure.

in our first state of conscious awareness, the meaning of our experience is intuited.

There is no seperation between what is external and internal, no sense of duality to distinguish what is and isn’t ‘me’. no language to cloud perception

This dawning state of awareness when everything we know is intuited eventually becomes walled up as our experience brings new meaning and the sting of death from the paradise that is lost.

If life brings a revelation of love we work out a salvation from the good news and we resurrect into a new life as awareness dawns into a higher state of consciousness.

This genesis experience of awareness becomes forgotten along with the mode in which we gave it meaning for the rest of our life.

this is what the subconscious is made of and the abode of intuition for every fallen human being.

From there it rises up from it’s tomb motivated by meanings intuited from a long forgotten past and paradise lost.

And from where does your knowledge about intuition come? Do you have a source?

In answering your question, I’d like to think intuition as a nudge from our guardian angel. The angel like to tell us things, but we have to be sensitive and listen to the angels. If we do listen we can sense what is the right thing to do, if we don’t then we’re all on our own.

for instance, I think my guardian angel must know a lot of cops or something, For example, when I park illegally, as soon as I feel I’ll get a ticket for it but still go on parking I’ll most definitely get it. however, if I don’t have any thought of it, then I’m fine.

It’s a way of enterpreting the psyche in terms of relationship. Frued enterpreted human motivations in terms of sexual drives and base instincts. Object-relation theory is based on the view that we are relational and that relationship with others is primary factor in shaping how we percieve and respond to the world. It’s a powerfull tool in teaching Mary’s role because is the maternal care a person recieves, that is if loved or rejected and everything inbetween that determines the pathology through the stages of awareness. It is most usefull in enterpreting the earliest stages of developement.

elts, I should add that I use that view a paralell it with Salvation history because every human has an individual history that has shaped them that goes back tio Adam. Within each of us is the entire history of man. Jesus did not suffer those first stages of developement to become ‘sub’ conscious. We forget those stages because of the sting of death and sin. For the same reasons Adam and Eve are walled out of paradise so are we. We can never cross the wall of shame. JPII’ theology of the body is also incorportated in what I wrote about intuition
Elts, Thanks for asking:)
