Hello,
So I know Catholics believe in one baptism based on the formula given in Matthew. So my question is, if someone was previously baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, is it invalid? Can they therefore be baptized again in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit?

A valid baptism requires a trinitarian formula. So a baptism in Jesus’ name only would not be considered valid.

Was your baptism done in the name of Jesus, or with the Trinitarian formula?

Your Diocese has a list of ecumenical groups with invalid baptisms.

The proper form recognized by the Catholic Church for validity would be the Trinitarian formula.

Yes, if they request it in good faith.
