Invalid communion from Episcopal Church

So my older sisters were baptized as infants into the Catholic Church, but today my mom and I found out that she made a mistake and accidentally took them to an Episcopalian Church to have their 1st Communion. My sisters started attending church a year ago and would receive communion unknowingly :confused: I just found out about their invalid communion. What now? Do they just start communion classes in the Catholic Church and confess what they did?
I would ask a priest about this, but it is a little difficult with the Covid crisis right now but I also wanted to see if anyone here knows what to do with issues like these

Also, another thing. I was a baby when they had received communion in the Episcopal church, so I got baptized there as well. I made my profession of faith a year ago though to receive my 1st communion, at 15 years old. Here is something I may be overthinking or not: Making my profession of faith, I didn’t know I was being converted into the church because the baptism was not from a Catholic Church. As I was making my profession of faith, I and others were told to read from a paper. I read and remember agreeing to what was written. Did my lack of knowledge in fully knowing why I was professing make the profession invalid?

definitely. I am young, but trying to resolve this and help with my family’s mistakes. pray for me

If they received unknowingly then there’s no sin and so nothing to confess.

Presumably at the age of 15 you had at least come understanding of what you were doing. The Catholic Church recognises Episcopal baptisms so what you were doing was professing the Catholic faith - as long as you understood at least that much (i.e. that you were becoming Catholic) all good.
 
The baptism would be valid but the communion wouldn’t. Are they close to making their confirmation? Talk to the priest about it.
 
I ask this sincerely with no judgment… just trying to seek clarification. Your mom and yourself and your siblings underwent months of classes, first communions, and confirmations in an Episcopalian parish thinking, all along, it was a Catholic parish? I don’t quite get the premise of your post. How long did this go on? How did the Episcopalian clergy never clue in

As her sisters are older than she is, and she is 16, they are way past the usual age for Confirmation (but of course, they can be confirmed as adults).

Btw, people who are new here may not realise that InThePew is a priest.

its ok. I actually have no clue at all (how long they stayed in the episcopal church or how their clergy never knew) My siblings were young and I was a baby at the time my mom had us at an Episcopalian parish (not sure how she didn’t find out it was not catholic, maybe bc it looked similar) so, I am upset because in reality it was my mom’s duty to know where she was taking us. What I do know is we moved and it was right next to a catholic parish so when it was time for me to take my 1st communion classes there, they told me there was an issue with my baptism. Yesterday I found out that the church my mom had took us to years ago was an episcopal church. No one has done their confirmation classes. When we were at the wrong church, it was only my baptism and siblings 1st communion. Hope this makes it a bit more clear!
 
also. since last year, I have become the only devout catholic in my family (sadly), they stopped a long time ago. so maybe that helps to understand why it took me to find out all these issues
