there’s not much going on in my parish for people in my age group.
I can sympathize with you. For me, there aren’t many people around my age.
I could always join a different church where I could fit in better because they have more millennials but beliefs are important and the other options are just too flashy or the sermons go on and on. Sunday service (or Mass in your case) is just about worshipping God.
That said, it’s possible to do things with people in the same age group at other churches unless they prohibit non-members for some reason. I don’t think this contradicts Catholic teachings.

If one is not a believer anything that involves religious faith will be viewed as superstition.

They’re Christians, just anti-Catholic.
That seems almost paradoxical…

Does anyone know why this thread is supposed to close in 21 hours?

See, that’s what they argue, though. According to them, Jesus and later, Peter, didn’t start the Church.
Is there any Catholic Answers articles about this I can read?
who do they think started the Church and who do they think Jesus is, and His role on earth?

People do this

@Hope1960 except ask your question and name the mod

If I constantly feed my brain by reading and listening to things that tell me X is true and Y is false, I will have doubts about the truth of X.

It is very easy to follow things that are tailored to our liking, and that is how most Protestant Churches started, because some human being thought they knew more than Jesus. He built his Church upon Peter. Period.

The general Council of Nicaea in A.D. 325 excommunicated the followers of Arius. Such a thing would have been impossible if all that was necessary to be a member of the Church was belief in Christ and willingness to follow him.

The Sacraments may well be Catholic inventions. The Catholic Church has been going strong since 33AD and the Sacraments are how we interpret some of the teachings of Jesus. We claim the Magisterium given in Matthew 18:18.

The Protestant “Reformers” followed 1,500 years later and sought an easier path. Protestant Churches delight in claiming that the various bits of Christianity they have abandoned are Catholic inventions. The argument would be less ridiculous if they could agree which.

Moderator:

Why is my thread closing down in hours, when I just started it yesterday?

@camoderator can you respond to Hope?

It’s actually better to PM the mod using the name above in the post directed to the mods, rather than calling for them in the thread as I have done,

Just saying “moderator” doesn’t get you anywhere.

Yes, but that also works in reverse. My point being that both sides believe they’re right.

Two opposite things cannot be true.

For me, I read my way into the Catholic Church. I started with Scripture and the ECFs.
