I was thinking of how Baptism of Desire/Blood can save a person through invinciple ignorance. Then another thought occurred to me-can a Baptized Protestant also go to Heaven from invinciple ignorance? Or a heretic or schismatic? Even a satanist?

Invincible Ignorance assumes that there exists no willful intellectual sloth.

so a Protestant could strictly speaking enter Heaven, if God willed it and the person was trying his very best?

Any baptism made in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is valid and confers God’s Grace.

My understanding of a Baptism of Desire is an act of perfect love towards God so the person would not be saved by invincible ignorance in that case. A Baptism of Blood is sacrificing your life for the faith and you would not be save by invincible ignorance here either. You can reference: ewtn.com/library/DOCTRINE/BAPTISM.TXT
You can also reference CCC 1258 and 1259.

On the subject of invinicible ignorance you would have to consider the definition:

*invincible ignorance is defined as “that which has not been capable of being overcome or removed by reasonable care; whether because no thought or doubt concerning such matters ever entered the mind; or because, even if such a thought had come into the mind, this ignorance could not
have been overcome or removed by the use of reasonable and common care, nor could a knowledge of the truth have been obtained.” * Definition taken from Beliefs of Catholics by Ronald Knox.

Defintions of vincible and invinicible ignorance can be futher studied at the Catholic Encyclopedia: newadvent.org/cathen/07648a.htm

I would not necessarily classify those cases as invincible ignorance, but God’s grace is limitless. Could people be saved? Possibly, but that would be up to God to decide; however, I don’t think it would be due to invincible ignorance in the cases you mentioned.

Pax tecum.

It bears pointing out that invincible ignorance doesn’t save in and of itself, it only excuses certain sins–one must still have supernatural faith, without which it is impossible to please God.

In regards to baptized Protestants, it depends whether or not they are heretics or schismatics–neither can be saved. However, one must properly define those terms. In fact, both require a spirit of obstinacy. St. Augustine explains:

“Those are by no means to be accounted heretics who do not defend their false and perverse opinions with pertinacious animosity, especially when their error is not the fruit of audacious presumption but has been communicated to them by seduced and lapsed parents, and when they are seeking the truth with cautious solicitude and ready to be corrected.”

You wrote the answer there yourself. 🙂 If God willed it then Yes, of course it could happen. Does God will it? The testimony of Scripture seems to be in the affirmative, although it’s difficult to be sure that there was nothing in the context to remove the force of the famous, “[God] desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”. We can’t split God in pieces so that His will is opposed to His desire, so Yes, God does will it. Now all that remains is for humans to cooperate with God’s will.
