I need help because as long as he’s stuck on an invisible church we’ll have problems.***…
Christ’s Church, which He founded before He ascended into heaven, soon became visible to the whole world (as they knew it) because the apostles preached its gospel throughout the whole known world during their own lifetimes:
Romans 1:8
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
Acts 2:4-6
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 6 6 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.
Jews from every nation (the whole known world) heard the apostles preach in each Jew’s own dialect. This was a miracle from God so that they would be persuaded to convert to the one Catholic (catholic means universal) Christian Church which is the fulfillment of the Jewish worship (which became obsolete when Jesus made His New Covenant).
Hebrews 8:13 This Church was a very visible Church and was known throughout the whole known world in that time period and this visibility remains today and will remain until Jesus returns at His Second Coming.
The word “Catholic” was used to describe the universality of the Church already before the second century:
Ignatius, the third bishop of Antioch, wrote to the Church in Smyrna around 107 A.D. - 110A.D.:
“Wherever the bishop appears, let the people be there, just as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.”[Epistle to the Smyrneans 8:2.].
This title “Catholic” was in use before he wrote this letter because he does not take the time to explain its meaning in his epistle.
One faith, one baptism, one Lord.
Ephesians 4:4-6
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
One true faith only. It’s doctrine is protected by the Holy Spirit who prevents this Church from teaching error since Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would guide His one Church into all truth.
John 16:13
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come,
He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
Jesus promised that He would be with His one Church ALWAYS until He returned at His Second Coming (end of the age). If He is with His Church, then it cannot possibly teach error. If it did, then Jesus would be a liar and this we know is impossible.
Matthew 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
He commanded His apostles and disciples and those whom they appoint to go throughout the whole world and baptize persons (which makes them His disciples) and He commanded His apostles to teach these new disciples to do all the things that He commanded them regarding faith (doctrine), life, etc.
All persons must be taught the truth from those who already know it and understand it. They are not supposed to pick up a Bible and interpret it for themselves or listen to people who have not been taught by His one Church. Everyone must be taught the correct interpretation or he/she will be led astray.
2 Timothy 2:2
And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
2 Peter 3:15-17
Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked;
Galatians 1:6-7
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.
Those persons who (deliberately) preach a different gospel, other than the one that Jesus and His apostles and disciples taught, are accursed.
Galatians 1:6-9
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
Other faiths, which depart from this one faith (one gospel) instituted by Christ and entrusted to His Church which is known by the office of Peter within it, do not have the full truth although many do have partial truth and are attached to the true Church in an incomplete manner.
Matthew 16:17-19
