Tomorrow is a Friday in Lent, so shouldn’t we be fasting anyways?

I looked up the bishops’ letter for clarification, and this is what it said:
During this time of Lent, as a community of faith let us commit ourselves to prayer and action. As you know, during the Fridays of Lent, the faithful are obliged to abstain from eating meat. Recognizing the necessity of our dependence on God, we, the Bishops of Iowa, request that all Catholics dedicate the regular Lenten Friday practice of prayer and abstinence as well as the practice of fasting on Friday, March 30, to the preservation of religious liberty. Pray for your Church and political leaders that together we can find a solution that respects our respective roles in society.

It sounds as if the request is not that we have deeper fast tomorrow (although that might be a good idea) but that we prayer with special intention. Am I reading the letter right?

I saw this in The Globe the other day. Yes, I will be fasting tomorrow for this intention.

Thank you for the reminder, too.🙂 Do you mind texting me in the morning and giving me another reminder?😛

had a small omeltte (sp?), meatless of course, from the choke & puke at work this morning and won’t eat again until supper tonight.
