Can any of the apps be used on the classic iPod? Or are there equal items that can be used on it.

I cannot afford the iPhone at this time, and have a Samsung smart phone.

Is the Samsung smart phone using Android? If it is, you can find some Catholic apps in Android too, such as daily mass readings.

I looked through the app store and came back with this list. I’m sure I missed a bunch and may have included some that shouldn’t have been but here’s the list (which is much harder to read out of a table 😦 :

Hello Everyone,

Thanks,

Yes, the “Tune In” radio app for Blackberry is FREE. It gets every imaginable AM/FM/web radio station you can think of, including ready-to-play podcasts, from around the world.

It gets Vatican Radio.
It gets all the Immaculate Heart Radio affiliates in the U.S.
And so on.

Not a “Catholic” app, but if you want to hear “live” Catholic radio, that’s the one to get. 👍

I wondered if anyone had any opinions on Mea Culpa vs. Confession vs. iConfess and any of the other examination of conscience apps. I was thinking it might be useful while preparing for my first confession in a few months.

I’ve just recently started programming iPhone Applications and have a few ideas for some good Catholic iPhone Apps. If there are any developers out there who are interested in working with me on some of these, I could use the help. =]

Also, if you have any ideas for Catholic iPhone Apps you wish were in existence, I’d love to hear them and try to implement them.

I’d love to have a bible verse reference guide, so if I get a question from a non Catholic about, say, confession, i can type in confession in the app and it will show me the relevant scriptures, and maybe a few quotes from church fathers… even a little blip from a CA appologist? THAT would be awesome! 👍

I just got a new Android phone, and I just got the iConfession application. Its very nicely laid out to prepare you for confession. I will be using it this Saturday before I go to Confession.

Folks,

I’m well into development of an app dealing with Apologetics at the moment. Hopefully will be done soon. You can check my blog for pictures and more details. As for the blog, I can’t remember forum rules on pasting links to blogs and I don’t want to break any rules so just google “the romish papist” (or perhaps its linked in my sig…I can’t rmember if it is and can’t see it as I type this)

Suggestions are welcome for future app ideas.

Just realized there’s android apps discussed in this thread. I should clarify, the above mentioned app is for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Once finished, however, I will be looking at exactly what is required to create apps for Android and will consider porting mine over to that platform as well.

I love to pray with my iPhone - go for a walk with the audio rosary or listen to the Liturgy of the Hours, etc.

🙂

Divine Office (Surge Works)
Prayer 2000 (Surge Works)
I-Rosary (Opicury)
iMissal (Cantcha)
Magnificat
Word on Fire
Audio Rosary (Handech)
Mass Times
iBreviary TS
Divine Mercy
Bible Reader NAB (Olive Tree)

What ipad apps do you like and use? Esp news apps…

Can be Catholic or not.

My favorite Catholic app is Laudate. It has everything on it…mass readings, rosary, media, reflections, prayers, etc. It’s awesome!🙂

Thank you for posting about the Laudate ap. I just checked and it was available for my droid bionic.

I downloaded Laudate. It’s great.

What news sources do you like and trust for balanced reporting?

I have iRosary, Ignio, iCatholic Radio.

I just got ItemShelf Lite to inventory my books. It’s the free version. Love it!
