The Christians of Iraq and Syria have been killed and displaced by the dozens from the radical Islamist group known as ISIS. Christian homes have been labeled with the Arabic letter for N which represents the word Nasara or Nazarene. Islamists have given Christians a choice to convert, pay a fine, leave, or die. Some have labeled the the situation for Christians in Syria and Iraq to compare only to the Armenian Christian Genocide. Church officials and world leaders have stated that genocide is the proper term for the persecution of Iraqi and Syrian Christians.** ISIS can only be known as an organization fueled by hate, they have begun to CRUCIFY and BEHEAD Christian children and youth, RAPE and ENSLAVE Christian woman, EXECUTE and BUTCHER Christian men in the most vile ways, as well as ELIMINATE any other who stands in the way of the Islamist Regime. **

Pope Francis and the Catholic Church have repeatedly grieved over the situation and called for peace to no avail. The Vatican has approved and supported the recent decision for U.S Air Strikes against ISIS, in hope that it may stop the plight of Christians. Among the Christians affected the largest group that has faced persecution are Eastern Catholic Chaldeans. The Chaldean Catholic Patriarch, Mar Louis Sako, has called for an armed response if it will end violence and defend his people. Being the sister church of the Chaldean Catholics, the Syro Malabar Church has been in a state of constant prayer and petition to end violence against our East Syriac Brothers. A special Holy Qurbana and adoration was dedicated at the Mar Thoma Sleeha Cathedral, just for those who suffer in the hands of ISIS. I ask you all to please join in prayer for all of Iraq and Syria, especially our Christian brothers and sisters who have suffered so much.

Quotes From CNN-
“They are absolutely killing every Christian they see. This is absolutely a genocide in every sense of the word. They want everyone to convert, and they want sharia law to be the law of the land.”

“A Christian Holocaust is in our midst. We are actually calling this a Christian genocide… Day by day, it is getting worse and worse. More children are being beheaded. Mothers are being raped and killed. Fathers are being hung. Right now, 300,000 Christians are fleeing Iraq and living in neighboring cities.”

“The terrorists that have taken over parts of Iraq have been especially brutal to religious minorities—rounding up families, executing men, enslaving women, and threatening the systematic destruction of an entire religious community, which would be genocide.”

These people are in my prayers. I pray for but, I’m not hopeful that there will be peace in that region. :gopray2:
