“We thought that under Pope Francis dialogue was being encouraged and that “silencing” would no longer be the tool of engagement,” the group stated.

I’d be curious to know just how many priests are in this rogue “Association of Catholic Priests” who seem to think Pope Francis is going to throw out 2000 years of Church teaching so they can basically be Episcopalians.

Its Wiki page says it “Claims” to have 1000 priests. I wonder how many of them have already been removed from ministry like this guy.

I suspected many of them would be married priests who are not currently exercising their priestly faculties, based on the discussion in the article on married priests.

It seems a bit odd to me that priests who would simply like to be married would sign on to an organization that wants to question so many teachings of the Church. Priests being married is a relatively small issue compared with women priests or same sex marriage. Unless of course the priests are married to other men.

Yep…certain traditionalists go on and on an on about what a raging progressive heretic Pope Francis is… and while its true that some of his close friends and collaborators seem to lean to the progressive side, and some of his comments have leaned that way, or at least have been ambiguous, when it comes to actual action, he’s been pretty darn orthodox, and even conservative.

What amazes me is how much this priest seems to value the approval of people who will toss him away like so much used-up garbage when they have no more need of him. He’s in for a sad, rude shock.
