I think Catholics make up slightly less than one half the population in the north.So please excuse my total ignorance… Catholics mainly live in Southern Ireland, and in Northern Ireland Catholics make up a little more than 1/2 as well?
It’s much more peaceful yes, although I believe Jarnek said in another thread that there are still tensions that you don’t hear about in the press. Basically the IRA leadership made a strategic decision at a certain point to come out of the shadows, give up their weapons and participate in politics as a legitimate, law-abiding political party.And we don’t hear much about the fighting anymore… is it much more peaceful now?
