They are more commonly referred to as Catholic speakers, and they basically give talks about the Faith, sometimes around a particular topic. For example, Jason Evert gives talks about chastity, and I daresay he does it pretty well. I don’t know why the Irish Times used the term “preacher,” in all honesty. Perhaps the writer doesn’t know as much about Catholicism (which would be odd since Catholicism is in Ireland’s roots).

Because he’s Catholic and actually believes in it. We’re all “controversial” now.

And he uses the teaching John Paul the Great in his defence of chastity and purity.

Quite out of vogue, you know.

He was canceled “after concerns were raised about his views on homosexuality and contraception.”

You know, those “antiquated” ideas that homosexual acts are disorded and contraception is sinful.

The same happened to Matt Fradd 😦

The Universities are afraid of getting sued or otherwise getting backlash, same as a lot of Universities in USA. Universities are generally lousy places for freedom of speech nowadays.

I see the man is still going to be speaking at two non-University locations, so all this controversy will simply bring extra publicity to his cause and maybe cause more people to go listen to him.
