What if, some day in the future, there is a Pope Alexander IX, and when he dies he becomes Pope Alexander the Great?
Get it, Alexander the Great?
Get it, Alexander the Great?
The Church, by her nature, cannot be fallen in ruins.Cute. But I’m praying for a Pope Francis I, one who feels called to rebuild the Lord’s church, which has fallen in ruins.
i would love it! lolWhat if, some day in the future, there is a Pope Alexander IX, and when he dies he becomes Pope Alexander the Great?

Actually I think a Pope Sixtus the Sixth would only be 66.What would be interesting is if a future pope took the name Sixtus. Then he’d be Pope Sixtus the Sixth.
Get it? Six Six Six? 666?
The Anti-Catholic Fundamentalists would have their ultimate high with this one!
If he was indeed “great”, he would inevitably have to become pope St. Alexander the Great to clearly distinguish him from the pagan warrior. What if, some day in the future, there is a Pope Alexander IX, and when he dies he becomes Pope Alexander the Great?
Get it, Alexander the Great?
I think we get the name Dennis from Dionysus. It wouldn’t have been that unusual a name at that time, pagan connotations or no.Can there be any question that the most ironic name of a pope has to be Pope St. Dionysius (259-268 AD)?
Yeah, they were so “Innocent” that some of them were guilty. :whacky: Which is what makes it ironic.Weren’t some of the Pope Innocents rather not innocent?
For the Anti-Catholic Fundamentalist, it would be close enough!Actually I think a Pope Sixtus the Sixth would only be 66.
Probably just John Paul IIIIf a future pope, following the lead of Pope John Paul I, decided to honor both John Pauls by choosing both of their names, would he then be known as Pope John Paul John Paul?
Probably just John Paul III
