Ironic Thing about Intelligent Design Protestant Believers

Hi LutheranDK,
When you say Lutherans believe in the Real Presence, is it the same as the Catholic belief. In other words, do you/they believe that the while retaining the properties of bread and wine, the Eucharist contains the entire Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ? Or is it different in some way?

Note, I’m just curious, because I have heard some people say they believe in the Real Presence, but not the way Catholics believe in the Real Presence.

I say that the elements are BOTH bread and wine, AND the body and blood of Christ at the same time.
I do not believe that the elements only APPEAR to be bread and wine, while they’re actually not.

The old “if it looks, walks and quacks like a duck”-phrase applies here
It looks like bread. It tastes like bread. It is bread
But it is ALSO the body and blood of Christ.

No they don’t. Neither do the Orthodox for that matter.

But you said

I can see why you misunderstood me due to my miscommunication. Although I do hold that the Church does hold the entire revealed truth. I was specifically referring to its teaching on the real presence of the body & blood, transubstantiation. Which of course all of the above protestant denominations do not believe, and even if they did believe, are certainly not capable of validating.

Actually I am not upset.

Anyone can have opinions. However opinions that are not rooted in fact are worthless.

Fact: The Canon of the bible came from the authority of the Catholic Church, “With questions” seemingly does not agree with the authority of the Catholic church!

Fact: Jesus instituted the euchrist and told his followers that you must gnaw on flesh and drink my blood. HIs believers found this saying to difficult and left him because of it. He directly asked his followers if they would leave also not helping them to understand that he was only talking in metaphor. He let them believe, and rightly so, that we must eat his body and drink his blood.

I can have the opinion the moon is made of green cheese if I so choose. However the facts do not support that opinion. HOw do you know, have you ever been to the moon?

You have no facts to base your opinion on, since you do not know the hearts of people who believe differently.

I do not need to know the hearts & minds of specific people to know that pride does get in the way truth & evidence.

As you can see I’m not completely wrong IMHO about Pride and this issue as “CPAYNE” expains,

I’m sure not all allow pride to overshadow their judgenment but some if not many certainly do. I know my pride gets me into lots of trouble.
