There is a new website just launched that is advertizing a book that claims to provide irrefutable mathematical proof of the existence of God. Not only this, it also claims to prove that Jesus is His Son and that the religion He started 2000 years ago is Catholic. In fact there seems to be no end to what they claim to have discovered.

They further claim to have done this by dating the 6 Days of Creation using scientific data. And by this method they believe they’ve discovered the mathematical ratio the Pre-Socratic Greeks ascribed to the Logos. It is by setting this ratio to natural history that all of these claims come from. And the way they claim to prove all of this is by the fact that of the 27dates this method discerns during the time of Christ, 24 land on Jewish Holidays. The odds against this happening is obviously enormous. But not only that these Holidays illuminate these dates in Christ’s life so much it is like reading a whole new Gospel that declares on every page that the Catholic Church has been right all along about pretty much everything.

Has anyone heard about this book or website? Would anyone like to know more?

Well, I might know several dozen websites that prove mathematically that there is no God and that Jesus is a hoax and that the Catholic Church had it wrong all along. I might know several dozen more that prove mathematically that math isn’t math, but God knows that and that the Catholic Church was right, but only sometimes. I might know of hundreds of websites that purport just about every variation on just about every theme or thought created.

My preferred website to read about God and truth is the Bible.

👍

The Bible is great. No argument there. And so are the 4 Gospels. But this book purports to be a 5th Gospel, The Gospel the Bible itself alludes to that is “preached in all creation that is under heaven.” In other words they claim it to be the Gospel written by the Word, Himself through 15 Billion years of His involvement in Creation. Somehow I would have thought Bible advocates would be interested in such a Gospel.

No, because the Gospel can mean one of two things–either the whole message of the salvation of Christ, that is public revelation which ended with the last apostle, or else one of the four books of the account of the life of Christ which is called a Gospel. Any other “gospel” is not something we’d be interested in by that very fact. I offer you the words of St. Paul:
For if he that cometh preacheth another Christ, whom we have not preached; or if you receive another Spirit, whom you have not received; or another gospel which you have not received; you might well bear with him.
(2 Corinthians 11:4)

I will restate that the Bible itself tells of this 5th Gospel (Paul again in Colossians 1:23) so how can it be considered blasphemous. And it is hardly new revelation either since it is simply creation we are speaking of from the Big Bang to Calvary as seen through the lens ot the Logos.

The Catholic prescrption isn’t Sola Scriptura. It’s Sola Dei Verbum. Meaning by the Word of God alone. And the Word is found not just in the Bible but throughout the created universe. This book simply provides us a roadmap. But the revelation and yes the Gospel has always been there.

I should also probably add that the book has already been reviewed by 5 Catholic priests and one deacon. None found it to be blasphemous. In fact, the deacon thought it to be on the same level as the Summa. And of the 5 priests, four penned rave reviews which are found on the website. The fifth after reading it submitted it to the Templeton Foundation as a candidate for their annual $1.5 Million award for the person whose done the most toward mending the rift between science and religion.

Did you write the book?

yep. you got me. And since you have I’ll tell you a little bit about how it came to be.

I was an atheist when I stumbled onto the germ of the book. It was alluded to in a Marian locution by Fr. Gobbi. And I originally thought the idea that there was a pattern in history to be crazy. But I had to know for sure if I( was gong to have any peace, so I attacked the problem with the falsifiablte hypothesis that if this is truly from God it would have to be perfect. Otherwise it was just a coincidence. And it should only take me a couple of hours to prove what I knew couldn’t be.

Well hours turned into days and then weeks and eventually after 2 years of research where I’d discovered correlation after correlatioln after correlation that stretched alll the way back to the beginning of time I had to finally admit to the unsettling realization that I might be the first atheist in history who could prove the existence of God.

But even so I was still an atheist because there was still a tiny shred of doubt (as there is in scientific theory) and it kept me separated from God as effectively as if it were mount everest.

So the whole thing made me very ill. My conversion would take place two years later when I finally humbled myself and whole heartedly apologized for my past apostacy. And in doing that I had a very dramatic (and somewhat mystical) conversion where I saw the missing pices of the puzzle. Christ as it turned out was the lynchpin that made sense of everything. And that was in December of 1996. 15 years of further research (and tons of editing) later the book is finally ready for the public.

Has anybody noticed the book’s name has not been given?

I don’t believe there is such a book. What idiot publisher would print it ?

Prove me wrong, itr23r.

For one I’m not sure I am allowed to give the name of the book or the website. But I will. The book’s name is The Gospel of Creation and the website goes by the same name www.thegospelofcreation.com

For another I’m really not here to plug the book as much as I am to see the various reactions to it. After researching the book for 19 years without finding any flaws in the argument I am personally convinced the discovery truly is from God. The math is just too elegant and the message too profound for it not to be. And given that we are seemingly living in the fullness of time in an upside down world crying for direction I would think that Catholics especially would be ecstatic about a message from God that corroborates everything the Catholic Church has ever taught. I mean, think of the consequences to the world of such a revelation.

But for the most part all I have gotten is derision from those who haven’t read it. Those that have read it are full of awe and praise (just as I was after I realized what I’d found). But it’s the people who haven’t read it (Catholics and atheists alike) who are the puzzle. How do you get through to them?

There wasn’t much to read was there?

You would have to purchase the book to read it and I won’t be doing that.

It all seems very mysterious.

Oh, how can it prove that the world was created in six days and the big bang happened millions of years ago? Surely it is one or the other?

I checked your website.

For only thirty dollars, plus shipping and handling,
we can buy your infinitely boring 700 page graph and chart filled book
explaining how the 2/3rds rule forced God to make the events of the Bible happen on predictable dates,
regardless of the whims and actions of human beings at the time
because a mathematically predictable history is a deterministic history in which neither man, nor apparently God, have free will?

I’m sure there are two or three hundred people in the world stupid enough to buy this book and with enough diligence you’ll fiind them and make a few thousand dollars,

but I pass.

As regards your statement suggesting that it has to be either 6 days or 15 billion years it of course boils down to what a creation Day really is. The contention of the book is that it 6 Days be seen in terms of Kairos time rather than Chronos. By this measure the actual length of the Day is not known and all that is known from Scripture is that the events of each Day are roughly the same in magnitude.

And since you ask for more info here is a tidbit of what can be found in the books. The ratio as I mentioned in an earlier post p(name removed by moderator)oints 27 dates during the time of Christ. Ten of these directly and the other 17 are found through Scripture. If know the date of Christ’s birth you also know from Scripture the date of His Presentation the date of John the Baptist’s birth etc. etc. And as I also already said almost all of these dates coincide with observances on the Hebrew Calendar. And I might also add they are all magnificent. One in particular tells us that Jesus was baptized on Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) and for those unfamiliar with this holiday at the time of Christ it involved the sacrifice of two goats. One was slaughtered for the atonement of all the sins of the Jews for the entire year and the other was laden with all of those sins and sent out into the desert to return them to Satan (the one who had incited them).
So what did Jesus do immediately after being baptized according to the synoptic gospels. That’s right, not only is Christ our paschal lamb, He is also our scapegoat. but this is just one of a million insights this mathematical formula provides.

And if you don’t want to buy and read a 700 page tome based merely on what is being said here, I don’t blame you. But there is a much cheaper $3 booklet available that covers quite a lot of the subject matter and gives a pretty good overview of everything I think.

Atheists cannot believe in irrefutable proof. Every proof has a refutation. Even in the presence of a miracle, an atheist would say (1) he has been deceived (2) science will someday explain the miracle, or (3) that he has himself lost his wits. 😉

By the way, just because God works on a time schedule (and there are plenty of Scriptures that support this) it does not make Creation deterministic. And while it is true that people are fallible and unfit to apply to any divine timeline, the schedule outlined in the book has nothing to do with humans. Every date alluded to is determined by God either as the Word or as the Word incarnate Well let me back up and admit that not every date fits that criterium. There is one that doesn’t seem to be dependent solely on God. It is the Annunciation where Mary said yes to God. But then again Mary isn’t fallible like the rest of us is she? And so it is understandable that God would rely on her to do the right thing at precisely the right time. just another case where the book corroborates Magesterial teaching by showing in greater detail how important Mary’s role was to our salvation.

You are absolutely correct. But eventually the atheist is forced to break down (as I did) when confronting so much evidence of God’s hand in creation. And to that one person at least the proof becomes irrefutable.

Yes. For me it became a matter of yielding to the probability that the world is a lot better off with God than without Him. Proof in the Divine Pudding, so to speak? 😃
