You know, the sad thing is no matter what the reason, a woman may feel guilty, blame herself etc. And here we are making her feel worse, by disecting her choice. In some instances there was no choice.
And if you haven’t had ectopic and feel the utter sense of helplessness that accompanies that, please don’t tell a woman her child was murdered. She feels bad enough already. We would all do well to follow Jesus’ example when He met the prostitute…befriend her, put your arm around her and say I am sorry.

I had no intentions on making any woman feel guilty. It was a question about mortal sin of a DR. who performs it or has been a part of it. My wife has had three miscarriges (sp). I know what it feels like to lose a life.

On my way:

Well then, suppose I had taken care of her after her surgery, I would be gulity of a mortal sin, as I am Catholic. And the housekeeper who cleans her room is guilty, and the dietician who sends her lunch is guilty on and on. When does it stop?
If a woman comes to a doctor and says “I want an abortion” THAT is murder if the doctor obliges. If the doctor says "I am sorry, but you have an ectopic pregnancy " That is entirely different. And by the way, what happens if the doctor is NOT Catholic? Is it still a mortal sin??
