Hello Everybody,

I have a question about Halloween costumes. My children and I were discussing costumes (as I am making them this year). My son suggested that he would like to be Zeus the mythical god of war. Does anyone think that this would not be morally acceptable as he would be dressed a “mythical god”.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi,

How does he even know about such a thing? It would be highly inappropriate for him to depict a such a god. Halloween is the celebration of Holy Eve, the evening before the solemnity of All Saints. The saints are the heroes of humanity. Let him go as St. Francis, the man of peace. It can take much more strength and courage to be a man of peace, than a man of war (even though some wars are necessary.).
