Is a priest allowed to preach an extra homily after Communion?

In my local church at Mass, the priests sometimes preach an extra homily after the Eucharist has been given to the faithful (post-Communion) and at the point everyone is sitting down before the priest rises and performs the dismissal and blessing. Is this permissible?
 
Yes. The practice is not an “extra homily” but post-Communion reflections or meditations.
