Is a risen Christ cross sufficient for a sanctuary crucifix?

In our parish, in the sanctuary, instead of a crucifix, there is a large cross with a risen Christ figure. Is this appropriate for a church sanctuary?

The General Instruction of the Roman Missal (2002) says:

“Also on or close to the altar, there is to be a cross with a figure of Christ crucified” (GIRM 117).

“There is also to be a cross, with the figure of Christ crucified upon it, either on the altar or near it, where it is clearly visible to the assembled congregation. It is appropriate that such a cross, which calls to mind for the faithful the saving Passion of the Lord, remain near the altar even outside of liturgical celebrations” (GIRM 308).

If a church already has a bare or risen Christ cross as sanctuary crucifix, it can use a free-standing processional crucifix during the liturgy. The next time the church is renovated a sanctuary crucifix can be installed.
