I invite you to think twice about what you have just written. How would you like to be that child? You would consider denying life to an innocent child simply because it was conceived under circumstances to which it had no control? How easy it is to suggest that someone else doesn’t have a right to live because WE consider the circumstances of that person’s life to be less than desirable. We are talking about a person’s very life here! We never have the right to deny life to the innocent. If the mother doesn’t want the child, there are thousands who would be happy to adopt it.
So YES abortion is a mortal sin even if the woman was raped. Such a situation does not in any way make the child any less human and therefore, any less a child of God.
