My parish bulletin says it only takes about 30 minutes, so I’m curious what to expect.
oooh…okay, that makes more sense then. thank you.All Saints day is 1st of November, Holy Day of obligation. This year due to the proximity of Sunday there is dispensation from that obligation. This does not changes the length of the Mass, except that may be there is less singing.
All Souls day (2nd of November) in itself is shorter Mass. In the good old times each priest was allowed to say 3 Masses (in this day and in Christmas day)
It sounds to me as if it will be a bit rushed at 30 minutes. Because All Saints is a solemnity the Gloria must be sung or said. There’ll also be 3 readings because it’s a solemnity: OT, NT and Gospel. The Credo will also have to said. Because it’s not a holyday of obligation the homily is optional. It’d be nice to have some singing as it’s a solemnity but if your parish has said it’ll only be 30 minutes I doubt there’ll be any.My parish bulletin says it only takes about 30 minutes, so I’m curious what to expect.
But If I can recall, All Saints Day was on a Sunday last year.If I remember correctly, last year our Mass was at least an hour long.
Yes, it was.But If I can recall, All Saints Day was on a Sunday last year.
