Is all this misery pleasing to God?

Many people who knew about what happened to families who lost a child, daughter or a son, would say:
Who knows why his martyrdom was pleasing to God?<
No. Definitely it is not! It is not pleasing to God. Jesus cried when his friend Lazarus died. Jesus was shocked at all matyrdom that happened. Things like that never are to the pleasing of God.

If it was, Jesus had not healed blinds, lame or sick.

Important in such cases is; not to forsake and hold on to God. If we don’t – we are lost!
Lost to ourselves, lost to life – here and in eternity.

That’s why I prayed aloud when my son died: Please oh God, please take him to your kingdom. Please Holy Mary mother of Jesus, lead him to Jesus.

Bruno, thank you for sharing your great faith with us. You are certainly speaking from experience… and helping your brothers and sisters who have not “been there” to fortify our own belief in a good and loving God. May He bless you and yours.

God isn’t sadistic. He does not rejoice in the sufferings of His sons and daughters. Pain can be a means to an end namely sanctification when borne in union with Christ and offered up to him in humility for the salvation of souls. However, God eventually wants to do away with all evil including the pervasive reality of suffering in this earthly life.

I think that the suffering in this world is because of the sin in the world. That is our choice. All creation suffers because we are not in right relationship with our God. We insist on doing things our way and not his, therefore everything is out of sinc in nature. It is not God’s doing.

**All the misery of the world came into the world, because mankind gave room to the snake Lucifer (Genesis 3:1-13).

But it would be a fatal mistake to presume, things like sickness would be result of sin and punishment of God. Else Jesus would not have healed them!

Yes, sin causes very much of the misery – e.g. think of Sudan today and many other places, which remains us of Mt 18,7: Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!

This verifies again, that when there is no love, which is the fundament and first condition for living in God, (second commandment) there is hate, brutality, jealousy, distrust and the very sin that keeps us away from God – in eternity.

The rich and mighty who with their richness and might do not do good to others, will not get their heaven on earth.
Matth 19;24 – Marc 10:25 – Luc – 18:25

My thought on this subject is that it is not the misery of untimely deaths or other miseries that is pleasing to God. It is how we deal with our misery that is either pleasing or displeasing to Him.

Bruno, my sympathies for your loss.

This is what I needed to hear. To often with Catholic media like “One True Faith” there is so much focus on redemptive suffering that I start to think it is Gods will for me to suffer, especally as I am going through what my devout Catholic friends call Purgatory on Earth.

I needed a reminder this isn’t what God wants for me and that he really DOES want me to be happy.

Due to my queer English, I wrote:

Matth 19;24 – Marc 10:25 – Luc – 18:25
**which of course ought to be:
they have had their heaven on earth and will hardly ever get into Gods Kingdom.

Thank you ALL ever so much for your heartfelt sympathy.
Ma wife and I and our older son, NEVER accused God for what happened with this murder, but me keep praying and asking Holy Mother Mary, to leads Bjoern to God.
You can see Bjoern in my late Forum (that’s at the moment rather fading away after 3 years of running)
Gott-Kirche-Glaube.isthier.de
There you find a button “Gallerie”, and there is the latest pict of Bjoern before he died.
When misery holds us in hands, it’s a feast to Satan, who then sees a wound where he can place his final deathblow.
This will not happen, when we have God on our side!
