I’m wondering how to reconcile the two statements from JPII. The one saying “We believe in the same God,” and the other saying “but he is ultimately a God outside of the world, a God who is only Majesty, never Emmanuel, God-with-us.” How can that be the same God?

indeed, the link isn’t working anymore…how to reconcile? i think the point is this : muslims, like Jews and Christians, adore the One God, creator of this world…in this sense He is the same “deity” we worship…but about who this nature is, muslims do not worship the same God…it’s like having a same name to two different persons.
