Is Amazon.com a Supporter of Planned Parenthood?

I’ve looked around the Web but could not find an answer to this question. Does anyone know of Amazon’s current status regarding this?

I know that I can’t avoid giving some of my dollars to things like this but I’d like to know if any company I purchase from has an obvious affiliation with pp.

If you can’t find a connection between Amazon and PP why are you asking about it? Why Amazon, apart from any other vendor?

I think we need to be careful about such things. Damaging rumors can so easily be started. Anyone remember the whole devil worship rumor against Proctor and Gamble of a few years ago?

Is that an updated list? I hear there are old lists which contain companies that are no longer on the current boycott list
 
For the most part I think so; they list a website from Planned Parenthood in April 2007 so definitely less than a year old.
 
Coca-Cola and Pepsi are both on there… should I stop drinking soft drinks now?? The boycott thing can get really out of hand.

Yeah… so many companies on there that we encounter daily! I’m just glad my employer isn’t on there…
 
I stay vocal against PP but really can’t join in every boycott of a company that might send funds to them. I have an ipod and am not about to get rid of it if I learn they do. I’ll purchase itunes to go on that ipod. I prefer Coke and Pepsi, I shop at both Walmart and Target. If they built a good enough vehicle and I were inthe market I would buy a Ford.
 
The only updated list you can trust is from Life Decisions International. If you become a member, you are sent an updated list of Planned Parenthood supporters. You have to pay to get the list which seems lame but think about it- they have people research this day and night and how else would they be able to make a living if people didn’t pay them to keep doing what they are doing? The list changes a lot. For example, that list someone posted previously on this thread- there are a bunch of companies that are no longer supporting Planned Parenthood, such as Hewlett Packard, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, GEICO, gillette, McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and more. That list is outdated and should not be used as a boycott reference.
Companies are taken off of the list all of the time because- guess what… boycotts actually work! So the comment that was made earlier about boycotts getting out of hand because we can’t drink Coke or Pepsi products… #1 Soda is a luxury and at least you get to drink anything at all and were not aborted #2 There are always generic brands.

New companies are added to the list each quarter too. So it is always good to keep an updated list on hand. For example, Ebay was added last year 😦 and is still on the list. I have faith it will be taken off soon though. Like I said, this boycott DOES work!
 
Oh yeah! I completely forgot to mention…

Amazon is not on the list.

Amazon sells TONS of pornographic material. I could go into more detail of what I saw on their site but it is too indecent to even discuss here. They also have some animated porn available on demand you can watch online that kids could be watching! I found this out when I was sent an e-mail about a game they were selling called “Rapelay” where the player rapes women! In the game the player is to force the women to get abortions after they become pregnant! The e-mail said they were no longer selling this game. My question was why were they selling it in the first place and I sure don’t want to be buying things from a company that would endorse that kind of filth. I though maybe it was being sold by a private seller but no it wasn’t and neither was the majority of the pornography I saw being advertised on their site. I have NOT purchased anything from them since I found out these things!

Apple wasted ~$100,000 to try to defeat Proposition 8 in California, so they are pro-sodomy.

Am I right in assuming that you are a member of Life Decisions International? Unfortunately, I am not yet. Making the donation to get the book is a bit problematic for me (I am currently unemployed. Don’t want to talk about it). Anyway, it’s nice to see someone so understanding of LDI’s policy’s. I saw some of the nasty emails that prolifers sent them over their charging for the list, and I thought your apology (as in apologetics) for them was refreshing. So there.

You know despite their official policy, you can find a lot of pornographic material on Youtube for free, which is worse in my eyes. However, you can also find on Youtube channels for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Americans United For Life, Students for Life of America, a rather sparse channel from the Catholic League, RealCatholicTV, and even one from the Vatican itself. And I’m pretty sure there are plenty of Protestant channels as well. I’ve used Amazon a lot and you can find almost anything there. I once found that you can but pepper spray and sword canes there as well. I never knew that they had porn there because I’ve never tried to buy porn. (I’m not suggesting you’ve tried to buy porn. You clearly state you read this in an e-mail). Unfortunately, the reason there’s porn is because there’s a market for it because evil people have disposable incomes. And until those evil people are eliminated, there will be a market for it. The way I see it, as long as you don’t buy porn on Amazon, it’s not a problem to buy anything else. That would increase the demand for everything but porn and potentially convince them that it’s not that profitable. Or I could just be wrong.

Please say it ain’t so? Another can of worms about to be opened:eek: Er…on the boycott list sanctioned by the Church…that no one has yet to produce.

I will shop anywhere …where the price is right.👍
