Is an Act of Perfect Contrition required for forgiveness of venial sins?

Until one can go to Mass or Confession, for venial sins alone, must one gain forgiveness for them by making an Act of Perfect Contrition, or will a regular act of contrition (and the intention of not committing them again) be enough for being surely forgiven?

Venial sins do not deprive one of sanctifying grace, friendship with God, charity, and consequently eternal happiness (CCC 1863). Thus, it is not necessary to confess venial sins to a priest. Both perfect and imperfect contrition remits venial sins (CCC 1452). God bless you!
