Is Answers in Genesis a good resource?

Is this web site in line with Catholic teaching or am I going to get off into one of the many “official” Protestant opinions of Scripture? This is coming up as an application on Facebook and many of my friends and family, some Catholic and some not, are being asked to join the application. Is there a Catholic alternative I might suggest my family?

“Answers in Genesis” is a Protestant group that promotes a “creationist” understanding of the origins of man and the universe, and thus a literalist understanding of the first three chapters of Genesis. While the Church does not definitively exclude such an understanding of the Bible and creation, neither does it endorse it. And, while you may find Catholics who agree with the viewpoints of “Answers in Genesis,” the Church would not endorse those Catholics’ personal opinion on the matter.
